Dr Ian Taylor BA MSt DPhil (Oxon) - Director of Music
Dr Taylor read Music at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford where he also completed his D.Phil with a dissertation on early nineteenth century music in London. Following teaching jobs at the University of Oxford and at Exeter University, and a research post at the Royal College of Music in London, he became Assistant Director of Music at Downe House in Berkshire. He joined Farnborough Hill in September 2015 and became Director of Music a year later. Dr Taylor teaches curriculum music from Year 7 to Sixth Form and is proud to conduct a number of the school’s major ensembles, including the Orchestra and Senior Choir.  Amidst a busy schedule of concerts and performances, recent highlights include taking the girls to sing Evensong at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and the Senior Choir Tour to Barcelona.

Miss Lucy Warwick BMus (Manchester) PGCE
Having been awarded a Music Scholarship at Canford School in Dorset, Miss Warwick continued her studies at the University of Manchester, completing her Dip.ABRSM (piano) and gaining a BMus. in 2013. During two years at Sherborne Girls School she worked both in the Music Department and in a Junior Boarding House whilst completing her PGCE. Miss Warwick joined Farnborough Hill in 2015. She teaches curriculum music from Year 7 to Sixth Form, directs and accompanies a number of ensembles including Wind Band and Brass Group and enjoys supporting the girls in Orchestra and Senior Choir. Outside of school, she plays the trumpet in various local orchestras and is a keen campanologist. 

Mr Joseph Adams BA PGCE (Sussex)
Mr Adams studied music at University of Sussex, attaining a BA in 2009, and a PGCE the following year. He went on to become Assistant Director of Music at Heathside School for seven years, before joining Farnborough Hill in 2017. He teaches Music and Mathematics, directs and accompanies several school ensembles, and is the school organist. Outside of school, he has directed and accompanied a number of choirs and operatic societies. Mr Adams enjoys composing and arranging music.
